At Yummy Dogs, we’re on the countdown to International Hot Dog Day on July 18. Yes, you read that right, there’s a day in the yearly event calendar entirely devoted to hot dogs.

In fact, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council in the USA, the whole month of July is best spent indulging in your favourite food. The celebration has also been embraced around the world, so no doubt you’ll find plenty of friends to join you!

It’s our greatest pleasure to give you three ways to celebrate one of our favourite days.

1. Bring hot dogs to the office

If you’ve been looking for a way to boost morale at the office, look no further than hiring a hot dog cart on the July 18! Being a Wednesday, it’s sure to banish that mid-week slump. Let everyone know that lunch will be provided that day, but keep the main event under wraps.

This way, you’ll have the pleasure of seeing everyone’s eyes light up when they smell the tantalising treat. One thing’s for sure – they’ll love the great taste and the change from the boring lunch routine!

2. Theme your corporate or community event

Finding an original theme for your mid-year event, whether it’s a corporate night, a fundraiser or a community gathering, isn’t always easy. Isn’t it convenient that International Hot Dog Month gives you the perfect excuse to run with an entertaining idea to suit all ages?

Combined with delicious toppings and relishes, a hot dog stand offers finger food at its best for all kinds of events, whether you have a few important guests or hundreds.

3. Make your July family gathering a hot dog extravaganza

Chances are, you’ve got birthdays, engagements, anniversaries and the like to celebrate in July. International Hot Dog Month gives you a fantastic reason to make them extra special, while avoiding time in the kitchen catering for the hungry hordes.

We’re experienced in all kinds of event catering in Sydney, so let us take care of the food for you with our delicious hot dogs, traditional homemade relishes and fresh buns - so you can focus on the fun stuff!

Of course, the fun stuff includes party ideas. Set up a baseball pitch at your local park and invite guests to come costumed and ready for the big game.

They could choose to be a player, a spectator with banners and blow-up bats, or a cheerleader with pom poms. Serve hot dogs to spectators while the game’s on, and you’ll soon have the crowd roaring.

Hot dogs are also the perfect inspiration for a retro-themed, adult-only event. Deck out an indoor venue with a jukebox, a photo booth with costumes from the 50s and 60s, red and cream 50s diner-inspired tableware, black and white check tablecloths and your favourite Elvis tunes. Best of all, you can get replica vintage hot dog posters online for decoration and as a precursor to the delectable menu.

Whatever you choose to do, happy International Hot Dog Day (and month) from us to you!
