Have you noticed how time seems to speed up the closer we get to 'silly season'? All of a sudden, there’s the Christmas shopping to do, summer holidays to plan and far too many events to fit into the schedule.

This year, why not get in early with your office party, and beat the festive rush? Here are three reasons why having your Christmas party in November is a good idea.

1. It allows everyone to focus on what's important

We all love Christmas and the shiny fun stuff that comes with it. However, it’s easy to lose the true meaning of the end-of-year office party under a mountain of tinsel and festive cheer. It's is all about celebrating your company and your employees by putting them firmly in the spotlight - Santa can wait his turn!

You can still wrap your party in seasonal fun. However, holding it in November allows enough space to focus before the lead up to Christmas truly kicks in, and everyone has mentally left the building. Take the opportunity to generate motivation for the coming year, offer appreciation and highlight achievements, rather than letting your party become just another event people need to squeeze into a busy December schedule.

2. It avoids festive season scheduling dilemmas

No matter how hard you try, it’s difficult to pick a date for a party that suits everyone, at any time of year. In December, it can seem impossible. Not only that, but employees are likely to feel obligated to attend a work event. This often puts people in a position of having to choose between gatherings with family and friends and work.

That’s not to say employees don’t want to attend office Christmas parties! It’s always fun to celebrate with workmates while enjoying scrumptious food from event catering in Sydney, a few beers and a review of the year. Holding the party in November simply takes the pressure off having to make scheduling decisions at all, so everyone can relax and truly enjoy it.

3. It reduces party expenses

The end-of-year party is a great way to spoil your employees and thank them for a job well done - but it doesn't come cheap! And the closer it is to Christmas, the more costs rise. Therefore, when you throw a November bash, you give yourself a better chance of securing good deals for essentials like venue hire, event catering and entertainment. Beating the festive rush can also mean there's less demand for these essentials, giving you more choice.

With so many benefits, there’s no reason why November can’t be the season to be jolly, with your company, employees and future success firmly taking centre stage (before Santa swoops in to take all the attention for himself!)
